Arkipelago Announces Release of ROME 3.4 Software STOCKHOLM,
SWEDEN, July 1, 2002 --- Arkipelago, the innovative international software
provider, today released version 3.4 of its ROME Software. Significant
features of the product include enhanced versatility and flexibility
to help operators plan, deploy and manage networks in a fast-changing
environment. ROME is a powerful and flexible tool for network planning and inventory management, storing critical data for the efficient management of multi-technology and multi-vendor networks. It is a central component in OSS environments providing accurate topology data necessary for the smooth operations of the network. In a move to significantly increase OSS integration capability, ROME was upgraded with an Applications Programming Interface (API). Based on the Component Object Model (COM) concept, the API offers a smooth integration with other applications and Operational Support Systems (OSSs). To improve integrity of inventory management data, ROME is now delivered with the added, and tightly integrated, functionality of Audit Trails. This added feature enables users to see what has been done to a certain network object, by whom and also when the changes did occur. Keeping the history of each network object tightly integrated in the core product significantly improves the ability to control the overall network. "Our aim is to provide customers with a flexible software solution that they can maintain, operate and above all adapt themselves to their business models and network demands" says Michael Holm, VP Marketing & Sales. "The introduction of the new API and the Audit Trail functionality are other key elements in providing seamless integration of our software into any existing OSS environment." In addition to the API and Audit Trail, Arkipelago has made ATM provisioning enhancements in the new version of ROME, allowing planning teams to support dynamic network connectivity. While ROME already supports modelling and inventory management of most international network systems, including SDH, SONET and IP, the enhanced ATM provisioning helps our customers to better plan and operate ATM-based multi-technology networks, for easy migration to 3G. ROME 3.9 is now available from Arkipelago and its resellers. Inquiries can be directed to Arkipelago by contacting sales@arkipelago.com.
