Piracy in Action!

It has come to our attention that Aktavara AB, a company based in Stockholm, Sweden is using Arkipelago's flagship product ROME(TM) illegally in furtherance of its own business. Furthermore, it is claiming to own all property rights to ROME(TM). This is a wholly untrue and unsupported perception, contradictory to all documentation duly executed in that regard.

Furthermore, in 2006 (under Swedish Court Order, in Sweden) Arkipelago legally seized a copy of key areas of the source code for Aktavara's x:akta and it's x:akta ETT software program (Pre-object compile). Under third party code comparision of Arkipelago's original (pre-1999) code set, and the 2006 x:akta code set, Akkipelago has come to confirm that the x:akta source code is in fact Arkipelago's ROME(TM) product simply rebranded.

At this time, Arkipelago is taking appropriate measures to the fullest extent of the law, in prohibiting Aktavara AB from continuing to resell Arkipelago software and further infringe upon Arkipelago's rights with illegally obtained software. Arkipelago and its shareholders have obtained Ontario court ruling 01-CL-4267 in the Ontario Supreme Court (Canada), issued by Justice C.L. Campbell. In extension of this process, any customer of Aktavara AB runs the risk of being forced to remove or replace the software obtained or supported by Aktavara AB.

We strongly encourage any customer or other party who might be involved in these circumstances to contact us for further clarification and recommendations on this issue.
